Jacob Farin
Jacob joined Sarracenia Northwest in the summer of 1998. He originally worked with Jeff as a part-time consultant in sales and marketing while he completed his residency as a family physician. In October 2002, Jacob left private practice and managed the nursery operations full-time.
Both Jeff and Jacob are coauthors of Secrets to Growing Beautiful Carnivorous Plants for Your Home and Garden and are recognized carnivorous plant experts at AllExperts.com, a website where they answer questions from growers all over the world.
They are also strong advocates for the outdoor growing of Sarracenia, Venus Flytraps and other temperate carnivorous plants without the use of terrariums. They are always willing to debunk the common myths that hinder the success of first-time growers and not at all afraid to challenge people's misconceptions about carnivorous plants. They recognize that much of the failure that first-time growers experience has to do with inaccurate growing instructions provided by so-called garden experts. Hence, they also publish a monthly newsletter that reminds growers what they need to do every month to properly care for their carnivorous plants.
They also practice what they preach, which is why they grow their temperate carnivorous plants strictly outdoors. When growers purchase plants from Sarracenia Northwest, they can expect that their plants were properly grown in the right environment and will be perfectly acclimated for almost any growing condition.
Through their e-book, blog, monthly newsletter and beautifully grown carnivorous plants, tens of thousands of customers around the world have come to appreciate Jeff's and Jacob's expertise and no-nonsense approach to growing carnivorous plants.
